The story of the Caffè Aiello roasting company has the charming aroma of days gone by, in a land where a business capable of making a name for itself outside the restricted local boundaries required a great deal of courage and determination.

The history of Caffè Aiello is an entirely Calabrian story: dotted with many exciting moments and just as many difficult times, written by people who have succeeded in building a solid, profitable company, with a great deal of dedication and sacrifice. These are the same people who, every single day since 1967, have been writing the pages of an adventure in which a small artisanal roasting house has become a modern company, making coffee that is savoured and loved in many parts of the world.

A project which has developed a dream, making it reality, a vision that has always been the driving force behind the commitment of founder Gaetano Aiello, since the very beginning. The desire to enhance the taste of Italian espresso with high quality raw materials, creating a product that is capable of flying the flag of fine Italian production throughout the world.

When the Italian economic boom was in full force, his plan to make his passion into a business came into effect. The new factory was equipped with Oak wood fired coffee roasters.

Caffe Aiello started to expand its business to HoReCa sector (Hotels, Restaurants and Coffee Shops) and Vacuum packaging was introduced.

Caffè Aiello entered the single-portion market, with the production of delicious, eco-friendly coffee pods containing approximately 7 grams of blended coffee, made using filter paper composed of natural cellulose.

A new Logo along with new packaging and merchandising material was the beginning of a new age for Aiello, making the company ready to expand overseas.

Finally Caffè Aiello started its first distribution in Australia. Many Italo-Australians started to fall in love with our coffee. Many coffee shops and delicatessen are now serving Aiello coffee. Also available in coffee pods.

Gaetano Aiello was a hard-working, forward-thinking man, determined to experience and develop his biggest passion: his love for high quality Italian espresso coffee. He loved to inspect the coffee beans personally, selecting the raw materials of the best coffee producing countries and blending them to satisfy the tastes of the most demanding consumers, creating new blends with an unmistakeable taste.

His experiences in the field of trade and his long-term vision enabled him to develop a marketing idea that was ahead of its time, characterised by the courage to focus on imagination and creativity.

In the 1960s, when the Italian economic boom was in full force, his plan to make his passion into a business came into effect.

Industria Caffè Aiello Gaetano, the business he established in 1967, was indeed a roaring success.

The sound, innovative entrepreneurial spirit of Gaetano Aiello is the foundation on which the Caffè Aiello roasting company continued to be developed and passed down from father to son. Today the company is managed by the third generation of the Aiello family.

Today, what was once a small artisanal roasting house now continues to gain momentum, ready to explore new horizons and bring the taste of real Italian espresso all over the world.
